A pair of Lightning fighters, accompanied by a Victor tanker, intercept a Soviet Tu-95 Bear somewhere over the North Sea during the Cold War.

Lightnings XR728 and XS904 served with distinction as front-line air defenders from 1967 until retirement in 1988 and are maintained by the Lightning Preservation Group at Bruntingthorpe airfield in Leicestershire.
